Cx8 Coaxial Transmission line Loudspeaker

We imagined the Cx8 as a Music reproduer.
After years of different listening experiences we appreciated the sensation of reality of the best high efficiency system, the precision of monitor systems, the extreme coherence of the best fullrange speakers and....the truthfulness of a live performance.
With Cx8 we wanted to get a lively loudspeaker wich could interface with the widest range of high quality amplifiers while maintaining a relaxing behaviour with the most high information content.
We wanted a nearly perfect transient response as our ears are greatly sensitive to the edge shape of a transient, so high power motor units for our drivers were selected.
Regarding frequency range. We did not settle for a system unable to reproduce the low frequency with realism, but the boomy bass of traditional reflex boxes (no matter the price) was not an acceptable option. So we developed an original concept of transmission line loading that enabled us to reach 35Hz -6dB with the best articulation and impact (when you need it) we've ever heard from a non-horn-loaded system.
On the 'High Side' a compression driver gives us the velocity and richness we need, at negligible distortion levels. With the recommended supertweeter option we get 100KHz to reconstruct even the most critical harmonic structure of a sound.
We never believed that the extensive and indiscriminate use of so called 'exotic' materials is a correct way to reach for better results: as you can see the best loudspeakers of all time rely on paper cones and wood cabinets. It's not a matter of 'nostalgia', but an aware choice of the materials wich can bring us simply the best performance, independently by the recurring one-season-trends.
Then we thinked of a Loudspeaker system one could live with for years without hassles or troubles, with a high reliability and the ability to withstand heavy 'workloads', so we wanted to be very conservative when declaring the power rating.
